We are proud that two of today's most distinguished musicians are patrons of the band.

John Wallace

PatronsJohnWallaceJohn was principal trumpet with the Philharmonia Orchestra for two decades. He has toured extensively both as a soloist and as the leader of his own brass ensemble The Wallace Collection. He also performed before a worldwide audience of millions at the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

In 2002, he was honoured as having made the most outstanding contribution to orchestral life in the UK and took up the position as Principal of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He held this position until 2014 when he reformed The Wallace Collection and commenced composing new music for brass.

Sir James Galway

PatronsJamesGalwaySir James Galway played the penny whistle as a child in Belfast before switching to the flute. Principal's positions with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra preceded his career as a soloist, during which he has played at the White House, Buckingham Palace and the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony.

His discography is vast and he has endeared himself to millions worldwide, won many awards and in 2001 was knighted for his services to music.
